4. In 1998 more than 950,000 women were under correctional supervision, about 1% of the U.S. female population.

Those are some really intriguing statistics. I didn't realize that sex offenses were the largest percentage of crimes/arrests. I can't believe how many offenders there are in the country!
It really is scary! i was thinking about moving up by Michigan, but now that I see that it is one of the states with the most sex offenders, I may want to reconsider that.
